Brandon Zavala (19) Has been playing with Tyler Kings since December 2016 in the Tyler Premier League (Tyler Kings Reserve Team) . Brandon has been a top prospect and in the eyes of Tyler FC’s recruits and coaches for some time now. He was first spotted playing high school soccer for Chapel Hill. (Graduating Class of 2018)
Since the Kings made contact with the young player he was immediately interested in the possibility of playing for Tyler’s new semi-professional soccer club. However, although Zavala was playing well at the time, the coaching staff wasn’t completely convinced Brandon was ready for the task of playing soccer at the next level and he was placed on TFC’s Reserve Team.
The following year during the 2017-2018 NPSL season Brandon was often on the Tyler Kings roster, however coach Demetrio Hernandez thought he was still too young and too small for heavy playing time. Despite Brandon’s size he was able to play 2 out of 10 games and was coming off of the bench to play a maximum of 20 minutes per game.
Today Brandon Zavala finds himself as a key player for the Tyler FC Kings 1st team. During the Kings match vs the Wolves this past weekend; Brandon found himself on the starting line-up. Zavala made his debut as a starter for the first time since 2016. All of Brandons focus and hard work finally paid off. Brandon Zavala also contributed to TFCs victory by scoring Tylers 3 goal to put the Kings up 3-1 over the Arkansas Wolves.
We wish Brandon Zavala and all Tyler FC Kings a successful season!
