Get used to hearing the name Javier Leonor, the number 9, because he is on fire! And its no surprise to the staff and coaches at Tyler FC. This 2019 UPSL Fall Season, Leonor has taken the role of Center Forward and has scored 3 goals in the opening 2 games of the season, and scored 5 goals in 3 games during pre-season. Leonor made his debut for Tyler FC on May 5, 2019 vs Dallas City FC during the NPSL Summer Season. It only took the Kings #9 15 minutes to score the opening goal of the game and to score his first goal on his debut for Tyler. But getting Javier Leonor to become a King was no easy task.
Javier Leonor was born in Sonsonate, El Salvador and is now 20 years of age. He arrived to Palestine, Texas and began to attend Palestine ISD in the 2016-2017 school year. In April 2018 Tyler FC staff and scouts had been following the Palestine ISD soccer super star around the state of Texas. Javier Leonor had been scoring an insane amount of goals throughout his junior year in the high school soccer season. After being approached multiple times Leonor denied the opportunity to play in the 2018 NPSL Summer Season. The staff became frustrated but didn't give up on him and insisted that he would player for Tyler FC.
The following year TFC kept an eye on Palestine High School and on Javier Leonor in his senior year. Leonor almost didn’t qualify to play high school soccer because of his age, and missed 1/3 of the season and was still able to score 58 goals, and get 29 assists in 22 games. In high school overall Javier played 85 games racking up 157 goals and 103 assists, averaging 1.8 goals per game and 1.2 assists per game.
As you can see Javier Leonor is a scoring machine and a special player for Tyler FC. With his eye for goal and his killer instinct Tyler Kings look to dominate the UPSL Fall Season. Come out and support Javier Leonor and all the Kings at Tyler FC in our first home game vs FF Premier Saturday, October 5.
